Internal Medicine Physicians specialize in the treatment of adults over the age of 18. You may also hear them referred to by other terms including “internists”, “general internists” and “doctors of internal medicine”.
Internists are trained to deal with whatever problem a patient brings–no matter how common or rare, or how simple or complex. They are specially trained to solve puzzling diagnostic problems and can handle chronic illnesses and situations where several different illnesses may strike at the same time. This may include chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma and chronic pain.
At Bee Buay Wellness Center, our Internal Medicine Providers are dedicated to bringing patients an understanding of wellness, both in preventing disease and in promoting health.
Bee Busy Wellness Center’s Family Medicine — or Family Practice as it is sometimes
called — is what most people think of when they think of the traditional family doctor who cares for you throughout your life. That long-term relationship with a provider allows your Family Physician to care for you as a whole person and to provide a consistency of care that makes a world of difference in your ability to get healthy and stay that way.
Family doctors diagnose and treat acute episodes like a sore throat or flu as well as chronic illnesses and conditions like high blood pressure; provide routine checkups and encourage lifestyle changes to help prevent disease. Family doctors also provide care to all ages and both sexes.
Pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, is a way for people who don’t have HIV to prevent HIV infection by taking a pill every day. The pill contains two medicines that are also used to treat HIV. If you take PrEP and are exposed to HIV through sex or injection drug use, these medicines can work to keep the virus from taking hold in your body.
For those who are sexually active, no prevention strategy is 100% effective, but PrEP can be combined with other HIV prevention methods to provide even greater protection than when used alone.
Maybe you’re one of those guys who are notorious for neglecting their health. Now is a great time to change that — At Bee Busy Wellness Center we believe in providing preventive primary care, which simply means taking measures to prevent diseases and injuries. This includes learning about your family history and risk factors, conducting regular physical exams and checkups, educating you about diet, exercise and healthy habits, and — if necessary — prescribing medications, and tests that will help you to feel good and live a full and enjoyable life.
No matter how good we look on the outside the inside is what really counts. At Bee Busy Wellness Center we believe in treating the whole person, and that’s why we offer services to care for you from head-to-toe.
